Cycle Path Hedgerow Management

City of York Council will shortly be installing a new field gate entrance near the cattle crush at the Rufforth end of the cycle path. This is to enable CYC to manage the cycle path hedge running parallel to the allotment field.

The new field gate entrance will allow a tractor to be used to cut the majority of hedges along both sides of the cycle path, with the short narrower stretch back to the B1224 done by hand. Once the hedge has been cut, there will be a gap in the boundary fence whilst the new gate is made and installed.
