There is always a need for volunteers in our two villages, often to tidy greenery. If you would like to go out with a pair of secateurs and gloves there is usually work to be done along the cycle path. We do not have a full-time maintenance person on the job and it would be hugely appreciated by the Parish Council, walkers, and cyclists.
In Rufforth, we have two cemeteries, the Natural Burial Ground and a traditional one, both very beautiful to work in. Some residents might like to spend some time keeping them tidy.
If can volunteer any time to support our villages, please contact the Clerk by email to: clerk@rufforthwithknapton-pc.gov.uk.

Rufforth Village resident of over 30 years, Colin Valentine, hosts the Rufforth Village History group.
An informal group of local residents did a lot of work on the history of the village more than a decade ago, most of which is currently held in the Methodist Chapel or at Colin’s home.
If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Karen or Colin Valentine at Hawthorn Farm, Wetherby Road, or by telephone on 01904 738708.

The subject of dog fouling continues to blight the villages. Residents are reminded of their responsibilities with regard to clearing up after their dogs.
There are bins situated throughout both villages and along the cycle path, along with Guidance for Dog Walkers using Rufforth Village Playing Fields to keep this green space safe for our community to enjoy.
Please be considerate to others.
The defibrillators are now installed outside the Rufforth Institute Hall and the Knapton Lion Pub, Knapton. Anyone can have access to the defibrillator by dialing 999 and giving the code on the cabinet.
